Robertson names All Blacks squad to take on France with five new caps

All Blacks head coach Scott Robertson has unveiled his first squad of 2025, emphasising a balance of continuity and fresh talent.

Around 75% of the squad toured in 2024, while five uncapped players – Ollie, Brodie, Fabian, Du’Plessis, and Timoci – join after standout Super Rugby performances.

Scott Barrett returns as captain, supported by vice-captains Ardie Savea and Jordie Barrett. Hooker Samisoni Taukei’aho and midfielder Quinn Tupaea also make comebacks from long-term injuries.

The squad assembles on 25 June ahead of the first Test against France on 5 July in Dunedin.

  1. Not my All Blacks. They represent Aotearoa which doesn’t represent me especially being in the South Island of New Zealand.
