Roosters shut out Raiders 0-26

The Sydney Roosters defeated the Canberra Raiders 0-26 on Friday night, holding their opponents scoreless for the first time in three years.

Tries to Mark Nawaqanitawase (two), Hugo Savala and Reece Robson helped the Roosters establish a 22-0 halftime lead before Nawaqanitawase added the only try of the second half.

Raiders winger Savelio Tamale left the field with a head injury and was later ruled out, triggering an 11-day stand-down period. A first-half try to Victor Radley was overturned after a review found him offside.

Raiders coach Ricky Stuart said the Roosters were “too good” for his side, while captain Joe Tapine said the team failed to execute its game plan. The Raiders next face the Parramatta Eels, while the Roosters travel to play the Dolphins.
