The Crusaders have secured their place in the Super Rugby Final after a tense 21–14 victory over the Blues at Apollo Projects Stadium in Christchurch.
The match saw both teams locked at 14-all at halftime, with the Crusaders ultimately gaining the upper hand in the final quarter.
Will Jordan was instrumental in the win, scoring a crucial try late in the first half and breaking the deadlock with another in the 71st minute.
The Blues had earlier surged to a 14-point lead, driven by strong performances from Patrick Tuipulotu, Dalton Papali’i, and Mark Tele’a, but struggled to penetrate the Crusaders’ defensive wall after the break.
Despite a relentless 40-phase attack in the dying moments, the Blues were denied when the ball was turned over after a carry by Tele’a.
Tom Christie was outstanding for the Crusaders at the breakdown, securing key turnovers that shifted the match’s momentum. The Crusaders now await the winner of tomorrow night’s second semi-final between the Chiefs and Brumbies in Hamilton.
