Toulouse crowned champions of France

Stade Toulousain displayed clinical precision in their resounding 59-3 triumph over Union Bordeaux Bègles in the Top 14 final.

The match was a showcase of Toulouse’s relentless aggression from the outset, led by the stellar Antoine Dupont who scored two crucial tries early on, setting the tone for his team’s commanding performance.

From the Marseille Orange Vélodrome, Toulouse asserted their dominance with strategic kicks and relentless pressure that left Bordeaux scrambling defensively. A pivotal moment came when Tevita Tatafu’s yellow card opened the floodgates for Toulouse, allowing them to exploit gaps and unleash a flurry of tries orchestrated by Dupont, Romain Ntamack, and Thomas Ramos. Despite Bordeaux’s efforts, limited to a solitary penalty kick by Maxime Lucu, Toulouse maintained an iron grip, showcasing their supremacy in both set-piece play and open-field dynamism.

At halftime, Toulouse held a formidable 22-3 lead, a testament to their first-half dominance. They returned from the break with unwavering intensity, extending their advantage through Ramos’s accurate kicking and a relentless attacking display that saw them add several more tries.

By the final whistle, Toulouse had emphatically sealed their victory with additional scores from Julien Marchand, Blair Kinghorn, David Ainu’u, and Ange Capuozzo, completing a perfect season highlighted by their Top 14 triumph following earlier success in the EPCR Champions Cup.
