Long Island mum sues Disney for $2m over wave injury at Typhoon Lagoon

Kimberley Panetta news

Kimberly Panetta, a Long Island mother, is suing Disney for USD $2 million after she was severely injured by a powerful wave at Typhoon Lagoon in 2022 while rescuing her 3-year-old daughter from a children’s water slide.

Panetta claims the “mammoth” wave slammed her into the concrete, leaving her with deep scars, permanent disfigurement, and ruining her family’s vacation.

She alleges Disney negligently allowed such strong waves in a kiddie area, forcing her to endure “lasting physical and emotional trauma”.

Disney reportedly offered only a $250 credit, and Panetta’s lawsuit follows other injury claims at the water park.
