21 year old Yabuqi was fatally attacked in an alley way near the Waitakere Badminton Centre in Massey, Auckland on 19 December last year.
The man accused of her murder appeared in court today, where interim name suppression lapsed.
He is 30 year old Kanwarpal Singh of East Tamaki.
Singh entered a plea of not guilty.
The trial date was set for May 2024.
