Former Boeing employee turned whistleblower John Barnett has died in the United States.
Barnett worked for the company for 32 years before retiring in 2017 due to health issues.
He was found deceased from a self-inflicted wound on March 9, according to the Charleston County coroner. Barnett was a key witness in a lawsuit against Boeing at the time of his death and was part-way through a deposition hearing with the company’s lawyers.
Barnett served as a quality manager at the North Charleston plant responsible for assembling the 787 Dreamliner. He raised alarms about the use of sub-standard parts in aircraft and reported a significant failure rate in emergency oxygen systems, suggesting that one in four masks might not function in an emergency. Despite his warnings he felt the company did not adequately address his concerns. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) later confirmed some of his allegations, finding untraceable “non-conforming” parts within the factory and mandating Boeing to rectify the issues.
A spokesperson for the company told UK State media outlet BBC they were sorry to hear of Barnett’s death and extended condolences to his friends and family.
His passing comes amid heightened scrutiny over production standards at Boeing and its major supplier, Spirit Aerosystems, particularly after a recent incident involving a Boeing 737 Max.

This is in line with people that the PTB want to get rid of- perhaps members of Congress and in the other realms of the MIC were offended, and stood to take a stock loss in Boeing.
This reminds me of the so-called ‘murder/suicide’ of the Gray State movie producer, David Crowley, who was also murdered / suicided along with his family!
Or how about Seth Rich…or Ron Brown, all of whom were going to give testimony, depositions, and sworn affidavits to the courts.
