Former US President Barack Obama has been called out for climate change hypocrisy, following his appearance at the COP26 Climate Summit in Glasgow, Scotland.
Obama used a keynote speech to poke jabs at his successor Donald Trump for having pulled the United States out of the Paris Climate Accord, and for having an ‘active hostility’ towards climate change science.
Twitter users were quick to point out what they considered hypocrisy, with reference to Obama’s bombing campaigns, which dropped more bombs than his four predecessors combined. The US military is among the top organisational polluters in the world, and, according to a 2019 study by Brown University, is the largest emitter of greenhouse gases in the world. Twitter users also slated Obama for his lavish lifestyle, especially for his preference to fly by private jet and party on superyachts.
Progress wasn't stalled by Trump.
It was stalled when the Obama administration dropped 26,171 bombs in his final year in the White House.
26,171…that's three bombs every hour, every day, for a whole year.
How good was that for the climate?#COP26 https://t.co/gE4iYJnuvO

The same guy that purchased an ocean front mansion is telling you that sea levels are rising. Let that sink in.
