Nigel Farage has been returned as MP for Clacton with an emphatic by-election victory, securing 22,239 votes and 63% of the total — substantially increasing his 46% share from the 2024 general election.
Satirical candidate Count Binface took second place with just under 9,500 votes.
Farage, who triggered the contest to seek a fresh mandate from constituents, described the result as a “convincing, overwhelming win” and said voters had rejected attempts by the media and political establishment to force him from politics.
Reform UK figures pointed to the 44% turnout and the decision by major parties not to field candidates as further evidence of Farage’s strength in the constituency. Following the result, Farage said Reform would now focus on taking its campaign for political change beyond Clacton.
Binface did well, he should replace Luxon.
I wonder what would have happened if Binface had won? Could have been interesting…..
