Multiple people stabbed in ‘random attacks’ in Dublin, suspect arrested

Up to four people were stabbed in a series of seemingly random attacks in Dublin’s Stoneybatter area Sunday afternoon (local time), prompting police to urge residents to stay indoors.

The attacks, reportedly carried out with household implements, took place across multiple streets before a suspect was arrested in Manor Place.

Justice Minister Jim O’Callaghan confirmed the victims are receiving medical treatment, though none are believed to be in life-threatening condition.

A heavy Garda presence remains in the area, but authorities have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat.

The suspect is currently being held at a Dublin Garda station as investigations continue.
