Smith was elected the new Premier of Alberta on 6 October 2022.
She has vowed to pursue a more independent policy from Ottawa. In her first week of office she stated the unvaccinated were ‘the most discriminated against group that I have ever witnessed in my lifetime.’
In a recent interview she pledged to root out the influence of the World Economic Forum in Albertan health matters, noting:
‘I must tell you, I believe that Alberta Health Services is the source of a lot of the problems we had [during the pandemic].
‘The signed some kind of partnership with the World Economic Forum right in the middle of the Pandemic. We’ve got to address that. Why in the world do we have anything to do with the World Economic Forum. That’s got to end.’
