Protests in Iran over currency and inflation concerns

Protests sparked by increasing inflation and the reduction in value of Iran’s currency have spread beyond Tehran to multiple cities, entering a third day as shopkeepers, students and workers voice growing concern over the economy.

The unrest began after traders in Tehran’s Grand Bazaar went on strike when the rial hit a record low against the US dollar, before demonstrations started across cities including Isfahan, Shiraz and Kermanshah, with police using tear gas to disperse crowds.

President Masoud Pezeshkian has acknowledged the protests, ordered talks with representatives and replaced the central bank governor, while university students have joined rallies chanting anti-government slogans.

  1. Nice camera angle. The “protests” consisted of a hundred or so people out of a population of 92,000,000.

Israel has already come out and stated that these protests are organized by them, and that Mossad has agents working inside of Iran.

This is a repeat of the May 2025 “protests” that attempted to destabilize Iran before the 12 day war in June.

If Israel is stupid enough to attack Iran again (and they are that stupid) then Iran will not stop for a ceasefire as they did last time, they will effectively wipe Israel off the face of the map.

  2. These protests are about more than the economy. Look at TousiTV on Youtube and the video coming out of Iran to become more informed.

  3. Over the past 50 years, NZ has had far greater fluctuations of currency and inflation than Iran ever had. But I don’t recall any significant protests in NZ against currency and inflation. So I call bullmanure on what the legacy media (including DTNZ) is reporting.
