RFK Jr. urges global ban on mercury in vaccines

U.S. Secretary of Health Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has called on world health authorities to follow America’s lead and remove all mercury-based compounds from vaccines, saying the global community has a moral duty to protect future generations from the toxic metal.

Speaking remotely to delegates at the Minamata Convention—a treaty designed to eliminate mercury pollution—Kennedy said there was “no excuse for inaction” and urged countries to close the loophole that still allows mercury use in vaccine production. “The same treaty that began to phase out mercury in lamps and cosmetics chose to leave it in products injected into babies, pregnant women, and the most vulnerable among us,” he said.

Mercury-based preservatives such as thimerosal were introduced in the 1920s to allow cost-effective production of multi-dose vaccine vials, but their safety has long been debated. The United States removed mercury from most childhood vaccines in 1999, and Kennedy announced that this year his department completed the process by banning it from adult influenza vaccines. He said safe alternatives now exist, making continued global use “inexcusable.”

While the European Union and Australia have already eliminated mercury from vaccines, many countries still allow its use under World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines. Kennedy’s remarks reflect growing pressure on international regulators to review long-standing exemptions.

“The Minamata Convention was born from a shared moral conviction that no human being should suffer from exposure to mercury,” he said. “Now that America has removed mercury from all vaccines, I call on every global health authority and every party to this convention to do the same.”

  1. No ordinary people know that mercury is used in vaccines.
But most ordinary people know that mercury is poisonous !!!
We have been trusting for too long !!!

    • Kennedy who I believe to be of Irish Jewish extraction
      Was against vaccines period
      Now conveniently wants safe vaccines
      Political chameleon and shyster

  2. Replacement Chemical Preservatives used to replace Big Pharma’s favourite!! When a preservative is necessary, particularly in multi-dose vials, the following alternatives are used:

2-Phenoxyethanol: This organic chemical compound is commonly used in cosmetics and antiseptics and serves as a preservative in some vaccines, such as the inactivated poliovirus vaccine (IPOL). It is the most commonly used preservative in New Zealand schedule vaccines. [Allergic reactions: Symptoms can include hives and swelling. In very rare cases, this can lead to anaphylaxis.]

Phenol: Used in a variety of consumer products, phenol is also used as a preservative in certain vaccines, such as some typhoid and pneumococcal vaccines. [Health effects: Exposure can affect the central nervous system and cause damage to the liver and kidneys. It is also considered a mutagen and a potential reproductive hazard.]

Benzethonium chloride: This antimicrobial chemical is found in some over-the-counter hand and body washes and is used in a few specific, non-routine-use anthrax vaccines. [Side effects and concerns: Skin and eye irritation, Bacterial resistance and Allergies.]

NOTE: Single-Dose Vials do not require a preservative because the vial is accessed only once, minimizing the risk of microbial contamination. Of course, this is not as “profitable” for Big Pharma.
