Satellite images show Gaza devastated after two years of war

New satellite images from Planet Labs reveal the massive scale of destruction across the Gaza Strip after more than two years of Israeli strikes during the war with Hamas.

According to the UN Satellite Centre, about 78% of Gaza’s 192,000 structures have been damaged or destroyed, leaving cities like Rafah and Beit Hanoun reduced to rubble.

The conflict, which began after Hamas’ October 2023 attack that killed 1,200 Israelis, has since displaced 90% of Gaza’s 2 million residents and killed over 67,000 Palestinians, half of them women and children, according to Fox News.

Amid famine conditions and limited aid, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the war will continue until all hostages are freed and Hamas is eliminated.
