Ten convicted for abusing Brigette Macron online

Brigette Macron online abuse

A Paris court has convicted ten people of cyber-harassing French First Lady Brigitte Macron over online claims she is transgender.

One defendant was jailed for failing to appear in court while the others received suspended sentences or ‘mandatory anti-hate training’.

The case stems from years of content spread online, including claims about her identity and accusations of pedophilia linked to the age gap between her and French President Emmanuel Macron.
