‘Kiwi and Sue’ give an update from Camp Spearhead at Marsden Point.
Kiwi explains that the structure of the refinery is still in place. While some components have been removed, the refinery can be reinstated and improved.
‘It’s all still do-able – it’s not too late,’ says Kiwi.
The message is particularly relevant now as New Zealanders see the cost of a litre of diesel exceed $3.
Part transcript:
Good morning everyone. Happy Sunday. Hope you guys are doing well.
Just a quick video to let you know what’s going on here at Spearhead, Marsden Point Oil Refinery.
As you can see the oil refinery as a structure is still there. Yes they’ve taken bits out, yes it’s going to take some work to put it back together. Yes we need to improve it, but it is all still do-able, it is not too late, despite the narrative that’s been pushed out there in the mainstream media.
It’s never too late to regain New Zealand’s energy independence. It’s why we built this thing in the first place. It’s kind of obvious really, why we need it now.
Diesel prices are ridiculous. Fuel prices are ridiculous and the cost of living is going to go through the roof in a couple of months after the roll-on costs go through.
