Number of violent crime victims declines – Goldsmith

New data reveals a significant reduction in the number of violent crime victims across New Zealand, according to Justice Minister Paul Goldsmith.

“The latest New Zealand Crime and Victims Survey indicates there were 14,000 fewer victims of crime nationwide over the 12 months to August 2024 compared to the 12 months to June 2024,” Goldsmith announced.

The decrease was particularly notable in major urban centres, with Auckland experiencing a 26% drop and Wellington seeing a 21% reduction.

“These results are promising,” Goldsmith said, “but we anticipate some fluctuations in the data over the coming months before a clear long-term trend is established. There’s still significant work ahead to achieve our goal of reducing serious violent crime victims by 20,000 by 2029.”

Goldsmith also pointed out that the survey covers a rolling 24-month period, meaning the effects of prior government policies will continue to influence crime rates for some time. However, he expressed optimism about recent measures.

“With the Police enforcing tougher gang laws and sentencing reforms well underway, I’m confident we’ll continue to see positive outcomes in the fight against violent crime,” he concluded.

  1. See, limiting human rights make you safe (if you believe govt stats)? Everyone got that? Of course, eventually it will mean those tasked with keeping you safe, will themselves become unsafe, when everything normally associated with being human, becomes a crime. As we have already seen under the scamdemic.

  2. The reason that ‘crime’ has dropped is that it isn’t being reported, as if one is assaulted, then the person who has been assaulted becomes the target getting arrested, beaten, tasered or pepper-sprayed by the cops.
    And…
Then charged with ‘disorderly conduct’ etc.
The offender is released….and usually re-offends within 3 hours to one day, doing the same thing.
Hell…Goldsmith is super overconfident (as are many martial arts black belt types; untouchable, until Russian Samba is used in defence against such arrogant people…) and he can’t even track postal parcels online, since many are weeks delayed going overseas, or disappear altogether (stolen).
NEVER call Parliament either- they then spy on you even when the phone is ‘hung-up.
Solution; keep the land line in the lounge disconnected, and your mobile phones in an old microwave as it acts as a Farraday Box.
Use a land-line extension in a remote part of the house away from conversations that are supposed to be private.
Get OUT of the matrix; get OFF the Electoral Rolls, and stop playing the Matrix game of being offered a choice of those who have now been proven in their efforts in trying to kill you (Vax Jabs…!)
