New Zealand Rugby (NZR) has announced legal action against petrochemical giant INEOS, accusing the company of breaching its six-year sponsorship agreement by failing to pay the 2025 instalment and exiting the deal three years early.
The agreement, valued at £22 million ($NZ48.2 million), began in 2022 but has now collapsed, leaving NZR in a challenging financial position amid recent losses.
Despite the setback, NZR remains optimistic about securing new commercial partnerships due to the enduring global appeal of the All Blacks and its other teams.
