Hyundai Motor Group says it will begin deploying humanoid robots across its factories from 2028, signalling a major push into automation as global manufacturers race to adopt the technology.

The South Korean carmaker unveiled Atlas, a human-like robot developed by Boston Dynamics, at the CES technology show in Las Vegas, confirming plans to integrate it throughout its global operations, including US facilities.

Hyundai executives said robots would work alongside people rather than fully replace them, noting human workers will still be needed to train and manage the systems. The move follows Hyundai’s pledge to invest more than $20 billion in the United States, expanding vehicle production while increasing spending on artificial intelligence and autonomous technology.

Other major companies, including Amazon, Tesla and China’s BYD, have also announced plans to introduce humanoid robots into their operations.
