Eriksen stable after collapsing during Denmark friendly

Danish football star Christian Eriksen is conscious and recovering after collapsing during Denmark’s international friendly against Ukraine in Odense.

The match was halted in the 65th minute and later abandoned as medical staff treated the 34-year-old midfielder, who was able to walk from the field before being taken for further hospital examinations.

Denmark’s team doctor said Eriksen briefly lost consciousness but quickly recovered, with his implanted cardiac defibrillator appearing to function as intended. The incident revived memories of his cardiac arrest during Euro 2020, after which he was fitted with the device that enabled him to resume his career.

Teammates, staff and players from both sides rallied around Eriksen, while Denmark officials confirmed he was in good spirits and had sent reassurances to his fellow players.
