Luxon: NZ and India launch ‘major step’ in Strategic Partnership

India - NZ Strategic Partnership

New Zealand and India have agreed to elevate their relationship to a Strategic Partnership, with Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi signing a Roadmap to 2030 that commits both countries to closer cooperation on trade, defence, education, agriculture and other sectors.

The agreement was announced during Modi’s visit to New Zealand, the first by an Indian Prime Minister in four decades.

The roadmap sets a target of doubling two-way trade by 2030 and places the recently concluded New Zealand–India Free Trade Agreement at the centre of the expanded relationship.

Luxon said the agreement represented “a major step in the relationship between New Zealand and India” and reflected “our shared ambition to do more together.”

The Government says the FTA will eventually remove or reduce tariffs on 95 per cent of New Zealand exports to India, with 57 per cent becoming tariff-free when the agreement comes into force.

“It will unlock new opportunities to grow our goods and services exports into a market of 1.4 billion people,” Luxon claimed.

The agreement also includes a Maritime Cooperation Arrangement between the New Zealand and Indian defence forces, alongside new areas of cooperation covering tourism, sport, farm stock breeding and the dairy sector.

Luxon said New Zealand was seeking closer cooperation with India on maritime security in the Indo-Pacific.

“New Zealand’s prosperity and security depend on a stable and secure Indo-Pacific,” he said.

The Strategic Partnership comes as New Zealand seeks to expand its economic links with India, although the Free Trade Agreement is expected to face ongoing scrutiny from some sectors concerned about its long-term impact on domestic industries, immigration and market competition.

Modi’s visit is the first by an Indian Prime Minister to New Zealand since 1986.

  1. The greasy sickening sheen of slime on the pasty foul-skinned bald scummy head of this sneaky shifty treasonous snake will, by monday, after the snot-nosed corporate-rat weekend of phony posturing corrupt word-salad horsesh*t “get-together” stunt of fraud, – be draped in a slippery turban woven and distributed by his “friends” from the scam-centres of the sewerage-coated capital of the world fkn bombay.

    • Well said. The slimeball Luxon has sold us out and that little rat Hipkins also put his signature on the document.
      They’re a globalist uni party.

  2. If this had just been about trade it would have been lauded. The fact National, that you made it about immigration, was a HUGE MISTAKE. One that might well cost you this coming election. I wouldn’t touch you with a barge pole.

    • Exactly. There is panic in pushing this like kiwi Foie gras; in such a compressed time line, to achieve total capitulation to the globalist free trade agenda before anyone can vote National out.

Free Trade is pronounced ‘cheap labour’ from the etymological root word ‘slavery’.

    • Totally agree I will never vote national again he has just sold out this country and where is Winston and David no where to be seen

      • Oh NZF have a lot to stay, lots and lots of things to say…..still waiting for the action side of the equation…………..

  3. The fake democracy uni-party is acting out their orders from their globalist controllers, just as Canada is with their recently FTA with India. Neither the Canadian or New Zealand government came up with the idea – it was dictated to them and they obeyed.
You can vote – but it won’t make any difference in the fake democracy.

  4. Oh God defend New Zealand. Cultural replacement. Luxon, you were had picked to destroy the country post Ardern. Your puppet masters must be happy.

  5. 2030.

That confirms this is all WEF orchestrated. Every single one of their unhinged schemes always involves their 2030 “great reset” BS.

  6. New Zealand has not agreed to elevate any agreement to a strategic partnership, no matter how many print runs by the evil/hackable media.
New Zealand has not agreed to an influx of a massive number of the unassimilated.
New Zealand has not agreed to a wholesale giveaway of intellectual property.

  7. Sitting in my local town recently and people watching. Basically all I could see were old white people, then young brown skinned people. Get out while you still can. New Zealand is being turned into little India and yes they are being funded to take over. Even our local Chinese owned coin save is now owned by Indians. Every single cafe except maybe 2 or 3 is owned by Indians, every single restaurant, every single vape shop and liquor store. Why and how if these people are seeking a better life do they such age enough money to buy these businesses and where are these businesses advertised for sale? We re being invaded people and LUXO is a traitor. Don’t be fooled into thinking Hipkins the Liar is any better. Either we put Nee Zealand First and ACT in charge or we are F****ED.

  8. I lived and worked in India for two years – two of the absolute WORST years of my life. I vowed to never return there or suggest that my friends or family visit there.
Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that I would be living in india in new zealand.
I have a few of them as employees (inherited from someone else, not hired by me). They are the poorest performers of the lot, bar none.
It’s Operation Lockstep all over again. To the one who said get out while you can? Just where would you go? The same thing is happening all over the world. Operation Lockstep.
The worst part is that new zealanders are too nice (read naive) to stand up for themselves.
    Sad, sad, sad.

    • The worst part is that new zealanders are too nice (read naive) to stand up for themselves.
      It is worth repeating.
