Last month Baldwin accidentally shot Hutchins on the set for the movie ‘Rust’. Charges have yet to be laid and the Sante Fe Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the incident.

Reaction to the stars comments were mixed. Some welcomed his call for greater safety mechanisms, while others simply couldn’t understand why real guns had to be used. The best and most safest alternative, they said, was just to use fake guns, as Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson has pledged to do in the future.

“We’re going to switch over to rubber guns, and we’re going to take care of it in post-production,” Johnson said. “We’re not going to worry about the dollars; we won’t worry about what it costs.”
