Jase Lansky and his new single Broken

Jase Lansky Broken news

After a series of “Feel Good” songs, AUS Country Rock Artist, Jase Lansky turns to matters of the heart.

Like all songs written by Jase Lansky, ‘Broken’ is based on true events, and tells the story of love and loss.

“I wrote ‘Broken’ from the perspective of that Broken Heart trying to figure out what went wrong with their relationship. I had just gone through consecutive weeks where my closest friends and family had ended their marriages, which really affected me personally. Each of the break-ups came as a great shock, to the point where I was even questioning my own marriage – Are we good? Am I missing anything? Do I need to be better?”

“Seeing friends and family go through this is devastating, so I hope this song reaches out to all those Broken Hearts and lets them know they are not alone”.

‘Broken is available on Ditto.

Q&A with Jase Lansky

What first got you into music?

I jumped into music when I was at high school with a bunch of friends. Playing crazy riffs that we made up and a bunch of cover songs that we thought we were pretty awesome at… pretty sure the neighbours had a different view 😊 Anyway I had a love for alternative music/rock and so I followed that musically for quite a while, well until I hit the US in 2015. We rolled into Nashville and BOOM!!! – I fell in love with the city and with the honesty that is country music. So from that moment I changed my whole music dynamic, planned out the next phase of my musical journey (which included a 12 month planned pictured wall chart to get me back to Nashville), writing for twelve months back home in Australia, and then heading back to Nashville to record my music. Twelve months to the day my wife and I were on a plane and had relocated to Nashville where I wrote and recorded my debut album ‘Rip It Up!’

What is your creative process like?

Life stories always find their way into my writing so that’s pretty much my creative process. A reminder or an event will trigger a few lines, and then it goes from there. I normally grab my guitar when I’m writing but recently I’ve been hitting the piano – now that takes writing to a whole new level.

What does your music say about you?

My music (I hope) provides an insight into the type of person I am. Life affects us in so many varying ways that it’s sort of hard to depict who a person really is without knowing their background. And in my world it’s not all roses as I’m quite a complex individual. But I write honest songs that are reflective of the person I am today, the environment around me, and the people I love and care about.

Of your own music, do you have a favourite? If so, can you pin down why?

I wrote a song called ‘See You Again’ which is on my debut album. I didn’t release it to radio but to me it’s one of my favourite songs purely because I wrote it about my dad Robert (Bob) Noel Lansky. He passed away before my country music career took off, but he was a mad supporter when I was struggling through, and I was crushed when he died. My favourite line in the song says “I’ll be looking through my rear view, smiling where I’ve been to”, which pretty much means that no matter where I am in life I will always have the memories with him that got me to the moment I’m at.

What are your musical plans for the next 12 months or so?

My goal is to write for, and with other artists. We are planning to head back to Nashville in 2024 to take my song writing to the next level. I have a great circle of people in the US country music world that I can now turn to for knowledge and guidance. They’ve also seen the songs I’ve written, the passion I have for song writing, and the growing journey my writing has taken. From a musical perspective, honing in on this skill is my ultimate driver.

What can we expect from you within the next 6 months? Any releases planned? Future gigs?

Early 2024 will see the release of my second album ‘Hella Good Time’. This will be a mix of music that I’ve written, recorded and released over the last couple of years, along with songs that haven’t been released or heard before. Gig wise, well I’m always somewhere playing so I look forward to seeing y’all out there on my musical adventures.

What draws you to your preferred genre?

Country Music is honest! It delves into your deepest darkest secrets, can rip out your heart, take you for a life-time ride, and can also drop sunshine smiles everywhere you go. It has its own personality that can change individual emotions in an instant, and it can also be a calling to wherever and whatever you want to be.
