The UK government plans to introduce a law banning the sale of energy drinks like Red Bull, Monster, and Prime to under-16s across England, citing concerns over health risks such as sleep problems, heart issues, and excessive caffeine intake.
Despite most supermarkets already enforcing voluntary restrictions, up to a third of children still consume the drinks weekly, many of which contain more caffeine than two cups of coffee.
Health Secretary Wes Streeting said the move addresses parents’ and teachers’ concerns, while experts stressed that children’s developing bodies and brains are particularly vulnerable.
A 12-week consultation will gather input from health and education professionals, the public, and industry stakeholders before final legislation is drawn up, with Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland also considering similar bans.

Yip.
Because THAT’s the biggest problem the UK has right now.
Way to keep your finger on the pulse there, chaps.
