Prince Harry achieved a “monumental” victory against Rupert Murdoch’s News Group Newspapers (NGN) as the publisher settled his lawsuit, admitting to illegal activities at its Sun tabloid for the first time and agreeing to substantial damages exceeding £10 million.
The High Court case centred on allegations of unlawfully obtaining private information about Harry between 1996 and 2011, as well as intrusions into the private life of his late mother, Princess Diana.
NGN issued an apology for its misconduct but denied wrongdoing by its journalists or senior executives.
