Former Charlottesville USA TV weatherman Josh Fitzpatrick has been arrested after allegedly filming a consensual sexual encounter without consent and threatening to release the footage, police said.
The 42-year-old ex-29News meteorologist was reported in February by his accuser, who claimed Fitzpatrick used the recording to extort and intimidate them.
Authorities tracked Fitzpatrick to Ohio, where he was arrested with local police assistance and now faces charges of sexual extortion and unlawful creation of an image.
He remains in custody awaiting extradition to Virginia, while investigators warn there could be additional victims and encourage others to come forward.
Fitzpatrick had quietly left his job at the station in early March.
