Mohamed Salah has been excluded from Liverpool’s squad for their Champions League match at Inter Milan after giving a fiery interview accusing the club of “throwing him under the bus” and claiming his relationship with head coach Arne Slot had collapsed.
Liverpool, supported by Slot, decided the 33-year-old should step away from selection temporarily, though no formal disciplinary action will be taken.
Salah, who has recently fallen out of favour and has not started since a Champions League defeat to PSV, is also expected to miss Saturday’s match against Brighton before departing for the Africa Cup of Nations.
His comments have fuelled speculation about his future, with Wayne Rooney warning the forward is “destroying his legacy.”
Salah, who signed a new two-year deal in April, said he intends to enjoy what may be his final match at Anfield before leaving for international duty, adding he is unsure what the future holds.

I love your newspaper, it’s the one publication in New Zealand that I can trust. I intend to donate, however there is one small issue I fail to understand with your sport reports, that are generally very good, except for your sports editors bias against saying anything positive about LFC, even if they are the team you dislike, surely the odd positive report isn’t too much to ask for, for example the defeat of Arsenal and Ason Villa in the EPL, the defeat of Real Madrid in UEFA Champions League. Just saying.
