Nofoala Sandy Lameko, a former X Factor New Zealand contestant, has been sentenced to 12 months’ supervision after pleading guilty to two charges of assaulting his former partner.

The assaults occurred in February and May 2023, with court documents detailing physical and verbal abuse. Lameko had already spent nearly six months in custody and four months on electronically monitored bail.

Judge Belinda Sellars acknowledged the seriousness of the offences but noted the time already served and his completion of an anger management course. He is prohibited from contacting the victim and must comply with any further rehabilitation ordered during supervision.
