Social media personality Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan were detained on Monday for 24 hours on allegations of sexual aggression in a UK case dating back to 2012-2015, his PR team has said.
Tate gained millions of fans by promoting an ultra-masculine lifestyle. He was indicted in June in Romania along with his brother and two Romanian women for alleged human trafficking, rape and forming an organized crime group to sexually exploit women. They have denied the charges. The court is reportedly set to decide on their extradition to the UK.

I’m not much of a fan of the Tates to be honest. While some of the things they promote to young men (strength, stoicism, exercise) are beneficial and SORELY needed in 2024, I think their personal philosophies are a huge overcorrection. A male version of feminism is just going to exacerbate all the existing issues between men and women even more. No one needs that.
That being said, I don’t believe these guys are actually guilty of anything (other than being douchebags). Almost everyone who irks the establishment seems to be coincidentally accused of sexual criminality like clockwork. There’s a long (long) list of people whose lives are ruined through the simple accusation alone (never an actual conviction) by a weaponised media, up to and including people like Trump and Assange.
Also bizarre that the two women complainants both changed their stories and wanted to drop the charges at one point, but the Romanian government wouldn’t have it.
Again, I don’t particularly like them, but the whole thing stinks to me.
