Arrest in relation to Cambridge cemetery damage

Cambridge cemetery news

Cambridge Police have arrested a 19-year-old local man in relation to damage caused at Hautapu Cemetery this week.

The man has been charged with intentional damage in relation to that incident.

He has also been charged with sustained loss of traction in relation to a subsequent incident on a public road.

The man’s car has also been impounded.

Our officers in Cambridge recognise how upsetting the damage to the cemetery was for our local community.

They worked really hard to quickly identify and hold accountable the person responsible, and would like to thank those members of the public who provided information which assisted.

The man will appear in Hamilton District Court on Friday 5 August.

  1. Another great argument for being cremated, which many religions prescribe to…
    ‘Ashes to ashes, dust to dust’ – 1611 KJV Bible
    “Be tried as by fire, purified as is gold!’ Geneva Bible.

    Quote from an American Serviceman during Vietnam;
    “When I’m dead, they’ll cremate me…see,…and then they’ll gather in the latrine with the Chaplain. He’ll stand next to the toilet, say a few words, and then they’ll dump my ashes in the toilet to cleanse me of my sin…and the Chaplain will then flush the handle while they all say “Bye-Bye Bonstanden”!
