Brown outlines 5 key health priorities

Simeon Brown news

Health Minister Simeon Brown has today released his five key priorities for Health New Zealand in a speech to the BusinessNZ Health Forum in Auckland.

“The Government is investing a record $16.68 billion of additional funding in health, but we need to ensure Kiwis are seeing improved outcomes from this significant expenditure.

“Under the last Government, the system was focused on bureaucratic restrictions, rather than delivery for patients.

“I am putting the focus firmly back on patients, and ensuring the health system puts those it serves first.

“I have today released my five key health priorities as Minister of Health:

  • Focusing Health New Zealand on delivering the basics and achieving targets.
Fixing primary healthcare to ensure Kiwis have timely access to a doctor.
  • Reducing emergency department wait times so that 95 percent of people are admitted, discharged, or transferred within six hours.
  • Clearing the elective surgery backlog by partnering with the private sector to deliver more planned care.
  • Investing in health infrastructure, both physical and digital, so that we are building for the future.

“This plan is underpinned by a focus on putting patients first and supporting our frontline healthcare workers to deliver the healthcare New Zealanders need in a timely and quality manner.

“I promise every New Zealander: we will not stop until our health system delivers timely, quality care to all,” Brown said.

  1. Well, they need to start employing kiwi nurses who have graduated. They are not getting jobs and are leaving. Spoke to someone yesterday and was told that a recent graduate had applied for over 200 jobs and been denied.

  2. 5 Key Health Priorities:
    1. Exit the WHO
    2. Ban Puberty Blockers and gender affirming surgery
    3. Ban all GMO food and medicine
    4. Replace MOH with NZDSOS
    5. Make Vaccine Manufacturers Liable for all vaccine related injury

    • Excellent comment!
You can add Fluoride and Fluorine to the list.
Transferring public patients over to private health care providers will then simultaneously clog the private health providers.
      However-
Since World War Three is now underway, I would suggest that the NZDF Medical Corps from the three branches of service set-up Triage tents on hospital and clinic grounds, and perform minor to moderate surgeries so that
      1. NZDF personnel get experience in real-life Triage and medical care in a field environment,
      2. This clears the back-log of delayed operations,
      3. Charity Hospitals and Clinics should now receive Ministry of Health funding and personnel.
Everyone by now should be prepped with firearms, food, essentials and first aid kits, and should have by now attended the NZRC courses on first aid and combat medical treatments.

  3. $16Billion in extra funding? why? what is the justification for it? If it is needed what is the cause of need for $16 billion in extra funding?

  4. While this expenditure is granted , the Minister of Disability Minister LouiseUpston has handed over the management of Disability funding to the Department of Social Services and that funding has been FROZEN since that happened . Disability funding includes the elderly support ,intellectually ,physically disabled, and medically disabled people in our community.
Frozen funding means that if you are a person whose health condition worsens and you need more care and support to manage in your daily life, You cannot have that care. If you are in hospital and waiting to go back home but you will need a new or increased package of care, there is none and you have to wait in hospital for anything longer than 6 weeks post surgery ,where most likely ACCC will pick up the tab.
This is because for example the Waikato district is 8 million over budget so say the minions. How then is the DSS going to deal with the over spend? FIRSTLY they are demanding a review of the high care needs funded people. Those with the most complex health and disability needs. The review is to target those people and try to reduce their support by up to 50%!
Rational ? DSS seem to think the most disabled and vulnerable people will suddenly be able to do more for themselves, or that ‘informal support’ will appear from somewhere with skills, time and equipment to take over from the paid supports they have, or maybe they will just become so vulnerable left on their own, their condition will worsen to the point they die or beg to be put on end of life care path. Watch this space, it is going to get VERY difficult for hindreds of people and their families.

    • Luxon has also cut the benefits for the Autistic who own their own home, or have inherited the same from their parents at some point!
Luxon and his Zio-Globalist ilk DO NOT WANT SPECIAL NEEDS KIWIS AROUND!!! That is now very clear based on their actions.
This is very much like the NZ$30 million that was available for Special Needs / Special Education during the reign of J3wi$h Prime Minister ‘Sir’ John Key- he froze that funding and refused to help the Autistic / Special Needs students in the system. Not a cent was spent on those children, many of who have high IQ’s!, and Erica Stanford is very well aware of this past action, because I wrote to her in this regard via Track & Trace-Signature Required!
Nothing has been actioned, and I hope that the ‘Neuro-Diverse’ community mounts a class action lawsuit on the basis of
      1. denial of Human Rights-
      2. denial of the Right to an Education under Special Needs guidelines-
      3. denial of Healthcare and Support from violating the Patient Bill of Rights Act-
      4. denial of the Right to Own a Home in order to get a sparse disability benefit-
I have yet to see Autism New Zealand even demand that the Luxon Government abide by both Local and International Human Rights Law!
After all, the PTB wish to cleanse the earth of the Autistic, Disabled, and the retired elderly, as all under the U.N. are considered to be …(wait for it…!)…USELESS EATERS!!!!!!!!!
