Darleen Tana has resigned from the Green Party but may remain in Parliament despite the party’s unanimous call for her resignation as an MP.

This follows an independent investigation by barrister Rachel Burt, revealing Tana’s involvement in migrant exploitation linked to her husband’s bicycle company.

The Green Party’s co-leader, Chloe Swarbrick told media that Tana’s conduct fell significantly short of expectations.

While Tana’s continuation as an MP is still uncertain, the party remains ideologically opposed to invoking the ‘party hopping’ legislation to oust her.
