A major fire broke out early this morning at a waste transfer station on Captain Springs Road in Onehunga, Auckland.
Fire and Emergency crews were alerted at 4:20 am, dispatching 10 fire trucks and support vehicles from 11 brigades across the city.
The blaze, spanning 550 metres in length, 30 metres in height, and 30 metres in width, required a large-scale response to contain.
Despite the intensity of the fire, no injuries have been reported as firefighters continue efforts to bring it under control.
