Footage of a brutal assault on a woman in Ngaruawahia has appeared on social media.
The video was orginally posted to Facebook by store owner Ash Parmar.
The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Emerald Wright, last seen in the Ngaruawahia area on Saturday 8 April around 8.46pm.
The incident happened in the Bottle-O liquor store and was captured on CCTV. A witness said Wright ran into the store seeking protection from the assailant. Staff tried to intervene but the man was ‘high as a kite’.
Police were called but it took over 45 minutes for them to arrive, the witness said. If you know of Wright’s whereabouts, please contact police on 105.

Those men stood by while that woman was abducted??? They are not men, the Police took and hour to get there? they are not the Police, If this woman is dead then people should refuse to cooperate with the Police on all levels.
Why didn’t someone intervene? the guy is big but a weapon could have taken him down, improvised weapons are never far away, especially in a bottle store, a bottle would have taken him down! but people stood and watched and did nothing, why? is it because they think the Police would weaponize the law to prosecute them even thou they were acting in self defence if they bottled this guy? We’re not on a Google account, Fascbook, Twatter, etc. and never will be. So, no video for us…!
BUT- this is why we need to protect ourselves and fellow citizens by supporting a political party that will restore our Firearms ownership from ‘privileges’ to ‘Rights’ to include ‘conceal / carry’.
So; which minor / alternative Political Party(ies) will do that???
