‘Greenpeace are anti-farmer and anti-science’ – Fed Farmers

Greenpeace news

Greenpeace have shown they are nothing but an anti-farming lobby group by criticising Fonterra’s new on-farm emissions targets, says Federated Farmers President Wayne Langford.

“Yesterday Fonterra announced that they plan to reduce their emissions intensity 30% by 2030, but before the dust had even settled Greenpeace were climbing into them,” Langford says.

“These are ambitious and credible targets that have been designed using the internationally recognised and independent Science Based Target initiative.”

The Science Based Target initiative helps companies set clearly defined and scientifically robust plans to reduce emissions in line with the Paris Agreement goals.

“Kiwi farmers are already the most carbon-friendly farmers in the world, and Fonterra’s new target is asking them to go even further,” Langford says.

“True environmentalists should be welcoming such strong leadership from New Zealand farmers who are doing their best, but instead Greenpeace were the first to criticise.

“Nothing Fonterra could have announced would have been good enough for Greenpeace because they’re anti-farmer and anti-science.

“They’re totally fixated on an impractical plan to half the herd and to ban fertiliser, but that’s completely out of touch with what most Kiwis want.

“New Zealanders liked Greenpeace a lot more when they stuck to saving whales. They should get back to that and stop slagging off our world-leading farmers,” Langford concluded.

  1. Dr Patrick Moore (before he became a “dangerous conspiracy theorist”) was one of the founding members of Green Peace, and often talks about how he realised back in the 80’s that the organisation had become nothing more than a government tool to propagandise alarmist simpletons. A LOT of his content has not yet been scrubbed from Youtube, check it out while you still can.

I wish more people understood that the ONLY thing these governments and their activist thugs are going to do is make food scarcer and more expensive. That’s it. That’s all they’re going to do. Ever.

They’re not going to change the climate or save the world or any of the utter wacky nonsense they believe. They are just going to make us all poorer and hungrier.

They deserve no respect or reverence from us, they deserve nothing but mockery and contempt. They are dangerous idiots.

    • Hear, hear!

The attack on farming is global.

I fear most won’t understand what these humanity hating organisations have lined up until the lights go out and people are facing starvation. If you limit supply then the prices goes up. Only the very wealthy will afford protein rich food. Why do you think Gates is buying up farm land, in particular beef farming? Most of humanity will face starvation at some point. Deliberately caused in the name of what has increasingly become a cult like belief. It’s not the first cult with a belief that only a chosen few will remain.

Most of those who subscribe to this ‘cult’ believe that the planet has too many people. Mass starvation is both efficient and allows plausible deniability.

The attack on farming should also be viewed in relation to other policy, such as packing more people into smaller areas in cities. In addition to the ability to herd a population more efficiently, high density housing also gets rid of people’s ability to grow their own food.

      • For context I should add the following: The previous Labour Government seemed enamoured with China’s completely draconian approach to managing the virus and emulated enthusiastically. China packs huge numbers of people into high rises…that they locked down and imprisoned people in easily. Even welding doors shut! I will never forget the wailing towers of Shanghai and how they used drones like prison guards to fly around the towers. It was like the worst dystopian movie come to life. It made me want to flee the city!

        • Absolutely. That Youtube clip of the entire city of Shanghai screaming out in agony is one of the most chilling and unsettling things I’ve ever seen in my life.

I can just imagine how hard our single source of tooth must have been grinning as she watched it.
