Police are appealing for public assistance as they investigate the serious injury of a three-week-old baby girl admitted to hospital in the Hutt Valley with a broken leg earlier this month.
Detective Senior Sergeant Steve Wescott said officers were notified on 2 December after the infant was brought in by her family, presenting with an injury considered highly unusual for a child of that age.
Wescott said investigators have encountered conflicting accounts about how the injury occurred and are now asking the community to help clarify the circumstances.
Police have thanked those who have already come forward and continue to review all information received. The baby’s condition is reported to be improving.

If this happened in the UK, neighbour hoods would find the person responsible and hurt them. NZ does nothing but silence. Child abuse and murder is a continous news story. Other countries think NZ is pretty bad at abusing children
