Immigration New Zealand (INZ) is tightening oversight of the simplified Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) Job Change process to better protect migrant workers during business transfers, while keeping the system straightforward for compliant employers.
From 17 November 2025, INZ will be able to pause Job Change applications if serious concerns arise about an employer’s conduct.
The new measures will apply only in “exceptional circumstances”, including cases where an employer has had accreditation revoked within the past year, is under investigation or prosecution for immigration-related breaches, or where credible evidence of poor employment practices or exploitation exists.
Applications will remain on hold until accreditation decisions are finalised, and Job Changes will automatically be declined if an employer ultimately loses accreditation. INZ emphasised that “most employers follow the rules” and will see no impact on processing.
The updated process applies only when migrant workers are transferred due to a business sale, merger, or restructuring between connected entities—not when moving to an unrelated employer.
INZ advises businesses to secure accreditation promptly during ownership changes and to resolve any compliance issues early, noting that genuine employers meeting standards will not be affected.

Oh yes, more ineffective ineffectual window dressing to portray we are doing something about third world imports exploiting one another. And naive Kiwis.
Deportation is the best response. But our globalist masters won’t allow this. Keep the plebs at bay.
F*** you National Disgrace. This pathetic excuse for a govt should be finding jobs for Kiwi;’s, not importing cheap foreign labour.
