Labour MP Dr. Gaurav Sharma says bullying in parliament ‘rampant’

Gurav Sharma news

Labour MP for Hamilton West also said talk by ‘top politicians of ‘kindness’ was not credible because ‘charity must start at home’.

Sharma has caused a sensation this afternoon by writing an opinion piece for state funded legacy media outlet NZHerald in which he revealed the toxic, bullying culture that exists in the New Zealand parliament.

The opinion comes as attention this week has been on the past actions of new Tauranga MP Sam Uffindell, in which he admitted to being a bully during his school days.

Some Labour supporters have attacked him on social media, accusing him of betraying the Labour Party, but the majority of feedback praised his courage in coming forward to expose the issue.

In an apparent swipe at Speaker Trevor Mallard, Sharma wrote:

If there was any serious intent or effort to make a genuine change in Parliamentary culture, the current Speaker and the powers that be would have included Member-to-Member bullying in its terms of reference, if not initially then at least in response to the Francis Report which flagged this as a serious issue after interviewing MPs who spend upwards of 30-35 hours on the Parliamentary precinct over the three or more days we are based in Parliament on sitting weeks.

Speaking of the Parliamentary Service, he said:

If this was a ‘real-world’ organisation run like any publicly owned or privately operated company it would be, in my opinion, long defunct. The CEO, as well as the Deputy CEO along with the rest of the leadership team, would be long gone and replaced with people who would not only understand what the role entails but also have significant experience in dealing with their own parliamentary staff as well as MPs.

In his final paragraph, he appears to take a swipe at PM Jacinda Ardern, whose ‘Be Kind’ message throughout the pandemic turned out to be an empty platitude, as workers were forced to chose between their livelihoods and an experimental mRNA medication, and those who exercised the right to medical choice were denied freedom of movement.

Politicians especially at top of our current system and from parties across the political spectrum often talk about “changing the system” and “kindness,” but as the saying goes “charity must start at home”.

One Labour voter wrote on his Facebook page:

Have you taken up working for the opposition now. Do you think this was the right time to raise your bullying concerns in the Herald? Was it your Intention to let the Nats and it’s MP off the hook? Sure looks like it. Guess you won’t be standing for Labour again.

  1. Most humans have conscience but some such as Baker, the fake expert and Keith, the media mercenary, have suppressed it to make a living. Both major party leader have become agents for NWO, and they dont have such it at all.

  2. Oh dear looks like the hit campaign by Labour on Uffindel for stuff he did as a teenager has now backfired and the spotlight is on well paid adults charged with supposedly running our country!

I say name names! And better than than, let’s go back 20 years and see what other bad stuff these parliamentarians have been up to.

It’s all just a distraction though isn’t it? To get us talking about them while they take more of our rights away. Nasty nasty people.

  3. Huge props to Dr Sharma for calling out his own party for their hypocrisy on Uffindel.

Mandating people out of their jobs, and their homes that depend on mortgage payments was extreme bullying, and Labour didn’t even bat an eye at doing that.

  4. Dr. Sharma should be appointed as Speaker of the House, or Governor-General in order to stop the intimidation, bullying and malfeasance that currently infects the Parliament from BOTH ‘Major Parties’ and makes it’s way into our everyday lives.

Neither are to be trusted…! And neother are the NWO ‘trolls’ that are infesting the internet!

Jabcinda’s government reminds me of a Nazi Koncentration Kamp; handing citizens and PR’s a bar of soap as a gesture of doing one a ‘favour’ that is a ‘likable gesture’, then going off to have a shower only to find Zyklon B crystals being graciously dumped into the showers meant for ‘cleansing’…!

History seems to be repeating itself under acts of sinister kindness, and the destruction of our bodies via experimental vaccines, just like ‘Doctor’ Josef Mengele did to us in Auschwitz, Birkenau and Ravensbruck!!!!!!!!!!

  5. If they can’t be nice to each other what chance is there for the rest of us? Small wonder this govt are such bullies……
