Labour has ruled out any electoral agreements with Te Pāti Māori ahead of the next election, saying it was committed to contesting all seven Māori electorates.
Despite opposition parties currently leading in polls, Labour’s Māori campaign chair Willie Jackson insists the party remains strong in these seats, citing its “historical dominance”, in an interview on state-funded Mata with Mihingarangi.
“You recall when Winston took all the seats in ’96, they all came back to Labour in ’99,” he said.
He highlighted the strong performance of candidates like Cushla Tangaere and growing interest in the remaining electorates but admitted the party faces a challenge in Hauraki-Waikato, where Te Pāti Māori’s Hana-Rāwhiti Maipi-Clarke has gained significant momentum.
“historical dominance” in rort, greed, corruption and tribal egocentricity.
Grow up to participate in statemanship.
You can always tell when Willie is lieing.
Lips move and nothing happens .
It amazing how the Maori trusts. ( in excess of 5 BILLION BILLION ) do nothing for the average Maori.
But amazing how a few got / get rich.
Labour are gone and forgotten National are not far behind get rid of these two and bring on a party that listens to the people of NZ.
Anyone voting for Labour or National has my pity……suffice to say I’ll be on the next plane anywhere is Labour gets back into office……….
