A 19-year-old has been charged with dangerous driving causing death following a crash near Te Kūiti in which a detached boat and trailer struck another vehicle, killing a woman and injuring four others.
The incident occurred on July 11, when the victim was travelling home with her young child after a holiday.

Reminds me of a case in Christchurch in 2005
Where two young girls were killed while walking on the footpath after a trailer detached from a vehicle.
The girls, aged 12 and 13, were walking on the footpath in suburban Christchurch when a trailer carrying timber became detached from a vehicle.
The trailer veered off the road and struck them, killing both instantly.
