Trade and Investment Minister Todd McClay is set to travel to Suzhou, China for bilateral trade discussions, industry engagement and the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Trade Ministers’ Meeting.
McClay said the visit would strengthen ties with one of New Zealand’s largest trading partners, with the relationship supported by the countries’ Free Trade Agreement.
He said the trip would also focus on discussions around fuel supply chains and ongoing efforts to address disruptions affecting regional trade flows.
“This presents an important opportunity to reinforce our connections with major regional economies,” McClay said.
APEC’s 21 member economies account for more than 70 per cent of New Zealand exports, around 60 per cent of global GDP and 37 per cent of the world’s population.

I have lost my trust in McClay after he allowed that UNDRIP clause in the India Trade deal and told Seymour there was nothing like that in there, that there was a treaty clause but the Indians wanted it out. You have to wonder if the UNDRIP and treaty business was there because National knew it would need Labour to ratify the agreement.
Even though i no longer give my party vote to national I would always give my MP vote to Todd. Not after this sorry Todd. You need to be more honest.
Agreed, McClay and his incompetent civil servants will be treated like minors, laughed at and treated condescendingly.
