Former Deputy Police Commissioner Jevon McSkimming has been charged with eight representative counts of possessing objectionable publications, including child sexual exploitation and bestiality material, spanning from 2020 to 2024.
The charges, which carry a maximum sentence of 10 years each, came to light following his resignation in May amid separate investigations by Police and the Independent Police Conduct Authority.
The charges had been subject to interim suppression, which lapsed in July.
McSkimming, who appeared in court via audio-visual link, has been remanded on bail without plea until November.
