Sirens blared across central and northern Israel, including Tel Aviv and Haifa, early this morning as Iran launched a fresh wave of missile strikes in what it calls ‘Operation True Promise 3’.
According to Iranian state media, the 20th wave of attacks targeted key strategic sites including Ben Gurion Airport, Israel’s biological research centre, and various military command and control bases. Israel’s Home Front Command confirmed the alerts at 7:59 AM Jerusalem time, as air defenses scrambled to intercept incoming projectiles.
Reports from Israeli outlet Maariv indicate that 40 missiles were launched in a concentrated barrage by Iran. The strikes come just hours after the United States launched overnight attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan using B-2 bombers and cruise missiles.
While Trump claimed the facilities were “totally obliterated,” Iranian officials and the IAEA stated that there were no radioactive leaks or significant casualties, and limited damage was observed. Satellite images and local reports suggest Iran had anticipated the assault, moving materials and sealing tunnel entrances ahead of time.
The situation has intensified regional fears of full-scale war. Iran’s Foreign Minister declared retaliation “inevitable,” while hardline Iranian media threatened US military bases in the Middle East.
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev condemned the US strikes, warning they have strengthened Iran’s resolve and may lead to broader conflict. As explosions rock Israeli cities and tensions soar, the conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran threatens to engulf the region, drawing in wider international attention and condemnation.
