The latest Taxpayers’ Union-Curia poll shows the governing coalition strengthening its lead, with NZ First jumping to 9.8%—its highest ranking since 2021 and overtaking both the Greens and ACT.
National reclaimed the top spot with 33.9%, while Labour dropped to 31.6%.
On these numbers, the coalition would hold 65 seats, compared to 57 for the opposition. The poll also found tepid support for both Christopher Luxon and Chris Hipkins as preferred prime minister, with NZ First’s Winston Peters ranking third. Cost of living, the economy, and health were identified as voters’ top concerns.
Great stuff. Now we need to get Erika Harvey and Kirsten Murfitt on board. Can’t believe the number of absolute cookers who would vote for Labour. Clearly they are either on the public service payroll or heading NGOs or charitable trusts who get large payouts from lefty loony governments. One thing is for sure, we must do everything to keep the coalition of communists from ever holding any power in central government ever again.
Great how? They are all globalists, pushing the same agenda. Wake up mate.
‘They’ can put out all the polls that ‘they’ want, in their psy-ops to manipulate the voters into voting for ‘The Winning Team’…
I’m voting for the New Zealand LOYAL PARTY and it’s Candidates when the time comes.!
I get what you’re saying but honestly you’re just wasting your vote. Better to get freedom representation in an existing party at this stage and NOT waste your vote.
There is no freedom representation with NZ First. They will dissapoint when the next round of crackdowns happen. Just as Trumps administration will. They are supporting the gene tech bill as part of the coalition agreement. Will they also help implement age verification of the internet? (Everybody having a digital ID). Just dog whistle politics. Opportunists. I wonder if Winston Peters talks with the new ruler of Syria – a former al-qaeda/HTS terroristthat the west.including him helped into power
How can you get “freedom of representation” from parties that have shown time and again, they don’t represent New Zealanders. YOUR’E the one wasting your VOTE.
I’ll be using my vote to support NZ Loyal too. The globalists have to be shown the door before this nation is little more than a plutocracy, catering to foreign lobbyists. Its already heading down that path, the TPPA and now this revolting Gene Tech Bill, are all clear indicators.
NZ Loyal needs over 143,000 votes to breach the 5% MMP threshhold. But they only got 34,478 votes at the last election. The total votes for NZ Loyal + NewZeal + Freedoms NZ + Democracy NZ + New Conservatives + Leighton Baker at the last election totalled 73,613 – this would need to (a) double and (b) all go to a single freedom party to breach the 5% MMP threshhold – two simultaneous miracles needed
So ACT, NZF started with big numbers? NO they did NOT. Go back far enough and the same can be said of Labour and the Liberals (now National).
This is a numbers based argument that reflects short term thinking and more than that, an unwillingness to take a risk, at a time when voting for more of the same is an even bigger risk .
Oh and while we look at the numbers its clear Labour and National are both losing ground. The fact NZF and ACT plus the Greens (love or hate them) are where they are, speaks for itself.
So people ignore the political accountants and take a worthwhile risk on something new.
Join NZ First and influence it from the inside. All the fools who waste their votes on parties that don’t have a show of getting in are part of the problem. We have a system and we need to work with it until we get a new system. If we join forces we get stronger. Divided is weak.
I love Alfred Ngaro, Liz Gunn and Hannah and Brian Tamaki, and Sue Grey. Love Elliot Ilkolei as well.. They just need to join together or join New Zealand first. If they joined NZF then we really could build it to be the most powerful party of conservative freedom loving peoples with a love of our country and our people.
Like those who tried to influence Labour, for example. I’m thinking specifically of Jim Anderton who left in disgust and founded the Alliance, that morphed into the Greens.
Another party that no one should vote for, right, “cause they are new, don’t ya know and voting for change is a wasted vote “. A “new” party who ended up in government with Labour.
Ignore the timid sheep and vote for something new.
Don’t Waste your vote?!?!?!?
It is exactly this mentality that is the problem. It results in compliance, conformity and ignorant consent.
Don’t you understand MMP Maggie?
Do you still think we have FPP, mate? Maggie and others understand you can now take a risk on new parties and have a chance they will find their way into office. This 5% thing needs to go, that said. Its thoroughly undemocratic.
The existing mainstream Uni-Parties parties have been, are now and will be in the future the REAL problem.
The voting polls need to be monitored when the time comes…
At first crude glance, the graph shows votes from Labour going to NZ First.
I think you are right. One of my parents is a dyed in the wool labour voter and has really changed their tune singing the praises of NZ First…….good.
Yay globalist Labour lite…..this kind of nonsense is why people are leaving.
Bye
Sarcasm aside lots are and will leave, particularly the well off and educated. they wont be easily replaced either.
Pick your poison New Zealand. I’m sure a lot of people will be packing their bags, faced with three more miserable years, of one flavour or another of of globalist grifters.
