A Christmas market in Magdeburg Germany turned tragic on Friday night as a car plowed through crowds, killing at least two people and injuring 60 others, 15 of whom remain in serious condition.
The suspect, identified as a 50-year-old Saudi Arabian doctor who has lived in Germany since 2006, was arrested at the scene.
Authorities have not disclosed a motive, but investigations are underway to determine whether the attack was deliberate or linked to any wider agenda.
The suspect, who reportedly drove his BMW through barriers before ramming into the unsuspecting crowd, was apprehended by armed police.
Footage aired on German television shows officers ordering the man to lie on the ground, initially approaching with caution amid fears he might have an explosive device.
Unlike prior attacks at European Christmas markets—often carried out by younger men inspired by extremist groups—the suspect in this case was not on any terror watchlists.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is set to visit the region, while Saxony-Anhalt state premier Reiner Haseloff expressed condolences to the victims and vowed to support the ongoing investigation.

It’s very sad that Muslims do not leave Islam in large numbers. However, I appreciate that they cannot because of the Islamic apostacy laws which state that a Muslim who leaves Islam shall be killed (and the four main legal authorities in Islam agree on this): In the past the state would do this but nowadays their own family might. Even if they could leave then they would become a minority in an Islamic country and still be in extreme danger, always living as a Dhimmi (a subjugated person).
To compound the problem, Islam has never had a reformation like Christianity where the power of the state was divided from the religion. Atta Turk a.k.a. Mustafa Kemal tried in Turkey just after WW1. The Singaporian constitution states the majority of the population “must” remain Chinese. Oh and good luck getting even PR, in mainland China. Unless you are a Russian rocket scientist, its extraordinarily hard and for most, next to impossible. I suspect this is why China demands its citizens loose their citizenship when they take up another. They don’t want them bringing back a non Chinese partner or family.
