Former Māori All Black Shane Christie calls for truth and healing in exclusive interview.

In an exclusive interview with Penny Marie on her YouTube channel, former Māori All Black Shane Christie opened up about a moment outside the Coroners Court in Auckland, New Zealand, where he asked a respectful question about the sudden death in February 2024 of Green Party MP Fa’anānā Efeso Collins.

The story told by NZ Herald used inflammatory language, and was dramatised even more by MSN to paint Christie as a crazed heckler and anti-vaxxer. He was nothing of the sort, as was clear in the footage of the incident.

Far from the “anti-vaxxer” label slapped on him by mainstream media, Shane’s conversation revealed a man driven by curiosity, compassion, and a commitment to uncovering truths about New Zealand’s rising excess deaths and the long-term impacts of concussions.

A Question Born of Concern

Shane’s question to Vasa Fia Collins, widow of Collins, about the potential role of the COVID-19 vaccine in her husband’s passing was sparked by her visible desperation for answers. “She was looking for truth, and she had desperation in her voice,” Shane said.

Despite media backlash, he stands by his intent to help a grieving family explore all possibilities, pointing to government data showing in excess of $11 million in ACC payouts for COVID-19 vaccine injuries.

Advocating for Concussion Awareness

Shane’s advocacy extends beyond public health. After a rugby career ended by concussions in 2017, and the tragic loss of his friend Billy Guyton to suicide in 2023—later linked to CTE—Shane is launching the Billy Guyton Foundation. Based in Nelson, the foundation will support those with traumatic brain injuries, challenging systemic misdiagnoses that label chronic TBI symptoms as mental health issues. “It’s not coming back to the cause,” Shane noted, drawing parallels to the dismissal of vaccine-related concerns.

A Call for Unity and Transparency

A vaccinated individual himself, Shane faced coercion to comply with mandates, including during MIQ in 2021. His experiences fuel his push for accountability, particularly through cases like the Air New Zealand trial on wrongful dismissals. Yet, his message is one of unity: “I do hope that people who can’t quite see it clearly don’t get defensive and try to be curious.”

  1. MSM are, like the so called mainstream political parties, in my view at least, untrustworthy, most of the time.

  2. Intelligent, articulate, empathetic and respectful. All the qualities we used to expect from journalists. No wonder they set out to defame him.
    Respect, Shane. Kia kaha.

  3. Exactly right.

We all now know the ‘safe and effective’ jabs were neither.

None of my friends and family will even discuss it. They all instantly get extremely angry.

They all know obviously, but are unable to admit their pathetic cretinous cowardly stupidity.

    • I have one family member who has just had another booster. Pretty sure my parents are the same. They all think I am nuts. Just makes me so sad. I will never forgive the people who did this to us – NEVER. I cannot be bought. Turn off the tv and red radio and covid goes away.i have asked my family not to ever mention vaccines to me again.dads just had shingles, and yep you guessed it he’s vaccinated for that. So I won’t be having that one either. Luckily my husband and one of my kids (not older 2) are awake.

  4. Also just wanted to add – thanks Shane and Penny Marie. It takes guts to speak publicly and thanks so much to both of you for putting this fantastic discussion out there. ❤️

  5. All of this was entirely avoidable.

Unfortunately at the time most New Zealanders were gullible, frightened and too propagandised to even realise that they’d been had.

On the plus side I think this has now changed.

I now meet lots of people who are now permanently ‘government distrustful’.
