A third victim of last week’s fatal Mt Maunganui campground landslide has been formally identified as 50-year-old Lisa Anne Maclennan, bringing the confirmed death toll to six.

Maclennan was identified at an identification hearing in Tauranga District Court on Friday. She worked as a literacy centre tutor at Morrinsville Intermediate School.

A Givealittle page established by her sister has raised more than $35,000 to support her family, with many donations referencing her work in education.

Witnesses at the campsite reported that Maclennan had been alerting and assisting others shortly before the landslide occurred early Thursday morning.

  1. Where are the fireings of the cuntcillors and the prosecution of the Tupuna Maunga Authority, who with their tree removal on a hillside are directly responsible for these tragic and totally avoidable deaths?
