Police have arrested three men following a serious violent incident at a Hoani Street property in Northcote in Christchurch that left four people injured on Wednesday night.
The men, aged 19, 31 and 40, have been charged with aggravated wounding and aggravated robbery. Two of the accused are scheduled to appear in the Christchurch District Court today, while the 40-year-old will appear in the Dunedin District Court.
Canterbury District Commander Superintendent Tony Hill said the arrests followed a targeted Police operation. “This was a coordinated effort focused on one clear outcome: holding those responsible to account and protecting our community,” he said.
Police confirmed they are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident and reassured residents there is no ongoing risk to the public. Hill added, “We will not tolerate this type of offending. If you choose to commit serious violence, we will act swiftly.”
Officers are expected to remain at the Hoani Street address as scene examinations continue, with Police acknowledging incidents of this nature can cause concern within the community but describing the event as contained.
