Monday morning at approximately 6:15 AM, emergency services responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Petries Road and School Road near Woodend School.
A truck collided with a power pole. No injuries were reported. The accident resulted in traffic disruptions and a temporary power outage affecting the east entrance to Woodend School, north of Christchurch.
Traffic management teams arrived promptly to establish control measures outside the school on the Main Road.
Students were directed to use the traffic light crossing and then proceed down School Road to enter the school grounds through the School Road gate, as the Main Road access gate remained closed for the morning.
