Trump’s new Security Strategy hailed as a pathway toward peace and stability

U.S.'s new National Security Strategy is a pathway towards global peace, says Russia

The Trump administration’s newly released National Security Strategy has been welcomed by Russia as a constructive shift that could open the door to renewed dialogue and a more peaceful global environment, with Moscow calling the document “largely consistent” with its own vision for restoring strategic stability.

The strategy, which promotes easing tensions with Russia, reassessing Europe’s current political trajectory, and prioritising national sovereignty, presents itself as a pragmatic roadmap to ending the war in Ukraine and revitalising transatlantic cooperation by addressing long-standing geopolitical imbalances.

While some EU leaders have raised concerns about its tone, the document’s supporters argue that its focus on sovereignty, stability, and cultural cohesion could help reset relations, reduce escalatory rhetoric, and create a more durable foundation for peace.

The report also highlights curbing foreign interference, halting large-scale migration, and pushing back against the EU’s tendency toward censorship.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told Russian state news outlet TASS that the policy shift aligns closely with Moscow’s own outlook. “The changes we’re observing are, in many respects, in step with our approach,” he said, calling the development “encouraging,” while noting that Russia would study the strategy further before issuing a firm assessment.

The document also blames the EU for hindering US-led attempts to resolve the conflict and argues that Washington must work to “restore strategic stability with Russia,” claiming such a move would help steady Europe’s economic foundations.

  1. Tell that to the Venezuelans and the people of Iran. Its more hot air, from from the kings of preformative politics, the Yanks. If the Russians are foolish enough to take it seriously, well, that’s their folly.
